Ethics

I apply the following ethical standards to Grape Observer:

1. My objective is to provide wine reviews that are honest, accurate and fair, within the limitations described in the section headed "Terms".

2. Any information attributable to a source is disclosed.

3. Conflicts of interest that affect, or could be seen to affect, the accuracy, fairness or independence of reviews appearing on Grape Observer are disclosed.  Though not a view universally held in the wine industry, my view is that it is important to disclose any such actual or potential conflicts of interest so that the reader has the opportunity to make up his or her mind as to whether it has affected the review.  See further the section headed "Terms" in relation to wine and product samples and event invitations.

4. Advertising is only accepted where I am satisfied that it would not undermine the accuracy, fairness or independence of Grape Observer.  I do not currently accept advertising.

5. I endeavour to correct any incorrect information on Grape Observer, within the limitations described in the section headed "Terms".
