Topper's Mountain Wild Ferment Petit Manseng New England 2016

This is a really interesting wine made from the south western French grape variety, petit manseng.  The minerally and saline aroma in fact called to mind an attractive Sicilian carricante, and it is of interest to note that the grapes are grown at 900 metres on volcanic soils. The palate is dry, medium bodied and has a racy and minerally acidity that is both saline and moreish.  This is a wine that will go very well with seafood or as a by the glass option, and is a very enjoyable release.  Rating: Good. Abv: 13.8%. Price: $35. Source: Sample.
