Punt Road Napoleone Vineyard Pinot Noir 2016

Punt Road continues to produce impressive medium bodied wines under the guidance of winemaker Tim Shand.  The 2016 pinot noir was in the winery by the end of February and was handpicked from vines with an average age exceeding 20 years (clone MV6).  In the glass, there are aromas of potpourri, roses, cherries, stem and dare I say blood.  The palate is mid weight and delicate in its length and impression.  A good release.   (Alc: 13.5%, Region: Yarra Valley, Rating: Good to Very Good, Would I buy it based on this tasting? Yes, Drink: now to 2022, Tasted: April, 2017, Source: Sample)
