Ten Minutes by Tractor 10X Pinot Gris 2014

I happen to think that the Mornington Peninsula is quite suited to pinot gris, a grape variety that is more beige than many in the wrong hands or planted in the wrong place.  In the hands of the team at Team Minutes by Tractor, as you might expect, there are no such concerns.  This is a first rate wine.  The grapes were hand picked on 11 March '14 and wild yeast fermented, saw regular lees stirring post alcoholic fermentation, a partial malolactic fermentation and then 8.5 months in old oak barrels.  In the glass, there are saline, pear, mineral and cashew aromatics. The palate is crisp with crunchy green apples and attractive weight.  In a word, "like".
