d'Arenberg The High Trellis Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

d'Arenberg's "The Hill Trellis" cabernet sauvignon from the 2013 vintage in McLaren Vale is arrestingly deeply coloured.  It has aromatics of choc mint biscuit and eucalyptus.  The palate is an exercise in warm climate cabernet, reminding of iodine, black olives and cassis accompanied by fine grippy tannins that build with air.  Despite its modest price tag, I would expect this wine to improve with cellaring for 5 to 6 years.
