Mudgee Gold Shiraz Cabernet 2013

I am beginning to think of Mudgee as the Langhorne Creek of New South Wales wine.  Reliable good quality full bodied reds with a fair price tag.  This is a very good shiraz cabernet under the Mudgee Gold label and shows what the region is capable of.  The 2013 vintage of Mudgee Gold is a blend of gold medal equivalent wines from four growers in the region.  Only 700 bottles are produced, now 699!  Pepper, earth and fresh cut new growth rosemary aromatics.  The palate has lovely balance and length and is recommended.
