Swinging Bridge Chardonnay Reserve 2014

I still sometimes worry that the "reserve" version of Australian wines is simply just wine from one of the better barrels which is then subjected to more new oak.  Trends are changing though, and this wine is not that.  In fact, it presented in quite a demure and muted fashion suggesting it may have more to reveal.  For now, closed aromatics of guava and green melon. The palate is balanced with nuances of nectarine and stone.  It appears full bodied and almost diffuse at times, but then a line of acidity keeps it together.
