Penley Phoenix Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

This is a good Phoenix cabernet sauvignon release from Penley Estate in Coonawarra.  2013 was a good vintage in Coonawarra, and it has very typical regional aromatics of licorice, black olives and earth.  The palate has mid range length and enough tannin to suggest something more than current drinking.  It was still drinking well after a few days open.  Usually a good sign.
