Clonakilla Hilltops Shiraz 2008

I went long on Clonakilla's Hilltops shiraz in the mid to late 2000s, noting in a tasting that it resembled its more famous sibling the Clonakilla shiraz viognier and was substantially cheaper, and frankly winemaker Tim Kirk just presents so likeably.  Yet despite being well made, I have more or less poked past them in the cellar ever since.  The price has since ticked up into the low $30s and rolling forward 7 years, the 2008 vintage tasted here has aromatics of pepper and plums and is towards full bodied on the palate.  A pleasant cooler climate style of shiraz.  Good

Abv: 14%, Price: $20s, Vendors and website: (nb. Google today describes Clonakilla's website as possibly hacked, so I have not included a link to it), Tasted: 2015
