Punt Road Airlie Bank Franc 2015

At last, after years of tasting so-so local cabernet francs, I have stumbled upon a cab franc release from an Australian producer that in both style and quality sits comfortably alongside its Loire Valley cousins in Saumur, Saumur-Champigny and Chinon.  Fresh and youthful, the 2015 Airlie Bank Franc is bursting with aromatics of raspberry and strawberry, with a sprinkle of herbs.  The flavours on the palate are fruity, medium bodied, fresh and exuberant.  This is an excellent cab franc release from Punt Road.  Good
