Petaluma Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

I haven't tried a Petaluma wine for a few years and this is a good release. I had expected something a bit more austere for such a young Coonawarra, but this wine is quite fruity in expression (in a good rather than a simple way). Its aromatics remind of blackcurrant and anise and the oak is well handled. The palate is quite open at the moment, with a quite expressive flavour of blackcurrants.  At $20 or thereabouts this is an enjoyable Coonawarra that will reward your interest. G
