Patina Cabernet Sauvignon 2006


This is a thought provoking cabernet sauvignon from Patina, released with 8 years of age on it.  The wine shows that the region and this producer are capable of producing a first class cabernet sauvignon wine.  Dark in colour, the aromatics remind of blackcurrants and oak.  These characters carry through to the palate, and the impression is of ripe fruit and the length is long.  The oak influence is not subtle, but the fruit and quality is sufficiently well formed to suggest a wine of some interest to follow.  G
