Just a short note to share that I am off to Chablis, Burgundy and the Beaujolais region in a few weeks time, and expect that I will soon have the opportunity to drown you with tasting notes and photos.  Tune in, or out, as you so desire.  In what is a rather remarkable set of ill-timing, following this trip, I am scheduled to return to France a couple of weeks later to cycle up various "hills" (aka enormous mountains) outside of Annecy.  Surprisingly this slightly unfortunate timing and proximity has engendered little sympathy.  With luck, I will be able to post a few wine reviews in amongst the  beauty of the mountains.

Wine Thoughts

  1. Hi Sean

I follow your blog regularly and I'm interested to hear of your upcoming trip to Burgundy and in particular, any recommendations for places to visit, wines to try, etc. My wife and I are planning a trip to Burgundy in late July. We have booked a day's tutelage at Burgundy Wine School as an introduction to the region and would like to visit a domaine or two although our French is not great!

I look forward to reading your comments. Also best of luck with the cycling, Annecy is a beautiful area.

  2. Hi Peter - thank you kindly; I am very much looking forward to the trip, and hopefully will be able to put together something moderately interesting on places, wines and people as best I can fumble together! My first challenge will be to find a Paris wine bar that is open on Sunday and willing to humour a jet lagged traveller :)
