Tahbilk Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

My notes for the 2012 vintage of Tahbilk's cabernet sauvignon in many ways resemble the 2010 vintage.  Both are good wines, and show a consistency of expression.  The 2012 vintage has aromatics of blackcurrant, dust, eucalyptus oil and wattle flower.  The palate is medium bodied, its length medium.  The oak is still integrating in this youthful wine, and its use is carefully managed.  In what is usually a good sign, the last glass is this wine's most impressive, unfurling to reveal some depth, structure and persistence.  I would suggest decanting it, and expect it will improve with age.

Rating: Good, Abv: 13.7%, Price: $25.70, Source: sample, Vendors: http://www.wine-searcher.com/, Website: http://www.tahbilk.com.au, Tasted: 2014
