Tim Adams Aberfeldy Shiraz 2010

Tim Adams' Aberfeldy shiraz joins my list of outstanding wine.  I very much enjoyed the 2009 vintage (reviewed here), but the 2010 vintage before me is better still.  It has effortless aromatics of green peppercorn, plum, warm spice and earth.  The full bodied palate has very long length and a substantial depth of flavour, with characters reminding of earth, plum, blackberry and cedar.  I briefly contemplated looking for a reason not call this wine out as outstanding.  Rather quickly, however, I reached the conclusion that this wine was so good that I didn't really care to enquire further.  Clare Valley shiraz at its best.

Rating: Outstanding, Abv: 14.5%, Price: $40s, Vendors: http://www.wine-searcher.com/, Website: http://www.timadamswines.com.au, Tasted: 2014
