Lerida Estate Lake George Cullerin Pinot Noir 2013

Lerida Estate's 2013 "Cullerin" pinot noir is a pale intensity ruby in colour and it has really quite attractive pinot noir aromatics of cherry, redcurrant and red plums.  The palate though does not have a strong frame.  Medium bodied, there are some ripe cherry flavours, but they rather swim around a bit with the wine appearing to lack acidity.  The length on the finish is towards medium, but it is also accompanied by some heat.  14.9% abv is rather high for the pinot noir grape, and I think this wine has lost some definition in its ripeness.

Rating: Acceptable, Abv: 14.9%, Price: $35, Source: sample, Vendors: www.wine-searcher.com. Website: http://www.leridaestate.com.au, Tasted: 2014
