Teusner Avatar 2012

This is another very good wine from Teusner in the Barossa Valley, and I will certainly be purchasing more of this.  A blend of grenache, shiraz and mourvedre, it has attractive aromatics of stems, plums, earth, warm beef stew with hints of lavender and thyme.  The palate has medium length, maybe a bit more and its acidity and fruit are in balance.  There are similar flavour impressions to its nose - stems, earth and plums, with some carefully judged sweetness from the grenache.  Ready to drink now, this is a wine of real interest.

Rating: Good to Very Good, Abv: 14.5%, Price: $28, Vendors: http://www.wine-searcher.com/, Website: http://www.teusner.com.au, Tasted: 2014
