G. Marquis Riesling Ice Wine 2010

You don't see a lot of Canadian ice wine in Australia and due to its high cost method production it's not cheap.  Nonetheless, they are worth looking out for as they can achieve a non-cloying balance between sweetness and acidity, generally lack botrytis characters thus preserving purity of fruit expression and in the Niagara Peninsula's climate in Canada the grapes are frozen on the vine, rather than more creatively at the winery in warmer climates.  This ice wine from G. Marquis is a good example of a riesling ice wine.  It has high acid, and sweet and pure flavours of lemon and lime in a balanced expression, and is recommended.
