Chateau Batailley 2006

If you find Bordeaux too expensive, you will find this wine restorative.  A cru classé, an excellent classic left-bank style wine and a price tag in the $50s.  Its description is classic Pauillac - cedar, pencil shavings and blackcurrant.  On the palate, there's medium to long length and a satisfying depth of blackcurrant flavour which cloaks its well integrated fine grained tannins.  Ready to drink now, Chateau Batailley joins my list of great value Bordeaux purchases.

Rating: Very Good, Abv: 13%, Price: $50s, Vendors: http://www.wine-searcher.com/, Website: http://www.batailley.com/en.html, Tasted: 2014
