Xanadu Chardonnay 2011

2011 was another great vintage in the Margaret River, in contrast to the dismal 2011 suffered by many regions on the east coast.  It reminds that Wellington is closer to Melbourne than Perth.  Xanadu's 2011 chardonnay is another good release from this label.  It has aromatics of almond meal, lemon, lime, wet stone and nectarine.  The palate is more extravagant, with notes reminding of sweet fruited nectarine, lemon and peach.  The finish is reasonably long, which together with its acid frame, made for a balanced wine of interest.  Good to Very Good
