Villa Terlina Gradale Barbera d'Asti 2007

I like the barbera grape and find that the wines of Barbera d'Asti and Barbera d'Alba fill a useful niche of medium priced wines that can retain a nice balance between savoury and fruit characters.  This particular Barbera d'Asti from Villa Terlina is very much ready to drink now, and displays mature characters of rich dark chocolate, plum and dried thyme both aromatically and on the palate.  The finish is towards medium in length.  A balanced wine.  Good
