Paul Jaboulet Aîné Les Grandes Terrasses Cornas 2006

Paul Jaboulet Aîné's Les Grandes Terrasses Cornas from the 2006 vintage is a medium intensity ruby colour in the glass, with evident tears and fading colour in the rim.  A 100% syrah, it has clean and light intensity aromatics of plums, cedar, dried mixed fruits and Christmas cake, that are fully developed.  Its palate is dry with fine grained light tannins, medium body and flavours of spice, cedar and red plums, with a medium length finish.  Overall, the wine is very good in terms of quality due to its balance, the complexity of aromatics and flavours of spice, cedar and red plums with some secondary characters of dried fruit and spice becoming evident and its medium length finish.  It is ready to drink now and is unlikely to improve further from here.  Very Good
