Montalto The Eleven Chardonnay 2012

Montalto have continued their fastidious attention to specific vineyard sites with their chardonnay releases.  This particular wine is my favourite of the current crop.  It is a pale intensity lemon colour in the glass and its aromatics are of gunflint, lemon, yellow nectarine and yellow peach.  The palate has medium acid and flavours reminding of lemon, yellow nectarine and struck match.  The finish though is its highlight, being towards long.  This is a very good chardonnay release from Montalto due to its long length, balance of fruit and general enjoyability.  Well done.  Very Good
