Louis Latour Chameroy Mâcon-Villages 2011

Mâcon-Villages covers the majority of the white wines of the Mâcon region situated at the southern most extreme of Burgundy (excluding the Beaujolais region).  It's made from chardonnay, and even in Australia it would appear, is sold at very fair prices.  A pale intensity lemon colour in the glass, this 2011 release from négociant Louis Latour has aromatics of honey, lemon, yellow nectarine and stones.  The palate is dry with an impression of medium acidity and notes of almond, lemon, grapefruit and short to medium length on the finish.  No fireworks, but this chardonnay has more interest than many local chardonnays at this price point.  Acceptable to Good
