Teusner Albert Shiraz 2010

Teusner have fashioned a very classic Barossa shiraz here of the ripe and voluptuous style, with some stunning fruit.  It's not over the top though.  And it's certainly not mean.  In the glass, it is a deep intensity purple in colour, with evident tears.  The wine has developing aromatics of anise, cassis, cooked plums and tar.  The palate is dry, with fine grained tannins, a full body, and flavours of plums, anise, cassis, cooked blueberry and earth.  Its finish is long and happily its acid is not overdone.  The quality level here is outstanding due to its heady concentration of fruit flavours of plums, cassis and blueberry, and its long length finish.  The wine's complexity is evident too in its nuances of anise and earth, and the lack of overdone oak influence, although it is there.  The wine is ready to drink now, and will age for at least another 10 years.  Bravo.  Outstanding
