Petaluma Hanlin Hill Riesling 2002

Petaluma is part of the Lion Nathan Wines stable, and the 2002 vintage of their "Hanlin Hill" riesling presents well.  It has light to medium intensity aromatics of lemon and lime, ever so slightly candied, together with an expression reminding of stones.  It is starting to develop some attractive secondary honey like characters.  There's firm acidity on the palate, usual for this Clare Valley style, and the wine is otherwise dry, with nuances of lemon and minerals and a medium length finish.  Overall, this is a good and well made dry riesling that has entered its drinking window.  Good
