Bakkhei United & Undaunted Mourvedre 2011

Bakkhei is a small producer in the warm Geographe wine region south of Perth, and north of the Margaret River.  This is the first of their wines that I have tasted, and made from 100% mourvedre, I found it to be a good one.  It has medium intensity fruit driven aromatics of fresh and lightly warmed blueberry, coupled with notes of graphite and cherry.  The palate has medium acidity, towards long length, with flavours reminding of plum and blueberry and a body and structure that is both pleasant and balanced.  This is a good example of a balanced, fruit driven mourvedre that has good length and ripe tannins.  It can be drunk over the next 3-5 years.  Good
