Rockford Basket Press Shiraz 2004

I've had some good Rockford wines, including their outstanding 1998 Basket Press, which is one of the better wines I have tasted, period.  Their 2004 vintage though troubled me.  It had a very "barny/animal" like aroma, with some peppery notes  The palate had pleasant length, but was rather closed.  In all, it was still pretty good, but perhaps a bit of a let down given its price and prestige.  Possibly though, I had a bad bottle.
