Pasqua Casterna Amarone 2000

I tasted this wine blind, and it had an earthy aroma of baked plums, tending towards a burnt smell.  The palate had pleasant sweet raisined grapes, and the alcohol was evident.  No surprises here given the winemaking method for Amarone.  81 points.
