Dominique Portet Fontaine Cabernet Shiraz Merlot 2007

This wine is blended from fruit sourced from the Yarra Valley and Heathcote.  The aroma basically was great: black fruits, plums, pepper, match stick oak - all evidence of that Australian infusion of cabernet and shiraz that can work so well.  The palate was less showy, but pleasant, with notes of pepper, acidity, some length and a touch of struck matches.  Good value at $20.  83 to 84 points.
