Wynns Cabernet Sauvignon 2003

This wine had a rather tinny aroma of plums and caramel, with the caramel dominating.  Oak and acidity evident on the palate.  Ok.  I know that Wynns has a very good reputation, but to be honest, so far I'm yet to see a magical release from this label.  84 points.

  1. Sounds like a bad bottle I think. 03 was a reasonable black label year and should be showing much better than this.

  2. That may well be right - my guess (hope) would be a storage issue if it's previously shown well. This bottle just didn't quite come together. I tasted this one blind and a few others were also pretty surprised that it was a Wynns cab sav.
