Capel Vale Cabernet Sauvignon 2000

Capel Vale's 2000 cabernet had a rather austere nose of restrained oak and black fruits.  The palate was similar, with some acidity present.  Not bad, but perhaps a bit tough going.  82 points.

Price: around $25

2000 Cabernet? That was going back a fair way! Our first vintage was 1998 from the this vineyard, so we were still perfecting the style. The current release has just won a GOLD at the Decanter World Wine Awards! Oh how far we have come!

Cheers
